Alex Sobel MP Policy and PR Support
Members of the team worked with Alex Sobel MP as a newly elected member to provide policy and PR support including speech writing, communications strategy, and campaign management.

As a newly elected MP in a diverse constituency, Holly Beattie and Lauren McDonald provided support to establish Alex Sobel MP as a household name with an emphasis on his chosen priorities. The environment was one of the top priorities Alex Sobel MP wanted to pursue and so Innovate team members developed an integrated policy and PR strategy to integrate local and national activities.
A 'Plastic Free Week' campaign was developed with Holly managing the PR strategy, social media strategy, and press office function, and Lauren leading on policy research and parliamentary business. A week long campaign delivered via social media, traditional media, and parliamentary activity was delivered resulting in analysis pointing towards greater awareness amongst voters of Alex's green priorities, the MP being nominated for a 'Green Hero' award, and important local stakeholder relationships being built.
The campaign aligned with Alex's first large-scale enquiry as part of the Environmental Audit Committee where team members provided research and analysis support to assist with contributions. A speech on the use of plastic bottles and coffee cups was delivered to Parliament, and drafted by Lauren McDonald, as a culmination of the week's events.
